Introduction

My name is Faith Jazzman Rose Webb. An interesting fact about me is that my entire name is compiled of improper nouns. I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, which for those of you who don’t know is located in Los Angeles. I am a proud mulatto, which is the proper term for a person who is half black and half white.  Unlike most mulattos I look extremely white.  I am currently a Pre-Sociology major.  My interest to study sociology sparked from traveling. Through my travels I began to notice how much culture truly does vary from place to place and wish to learn more about what influences these occurrences. In my short eighteen years I have been fortunate enough to travel to over twenty different countries. I plan on adding to my list by studying abroad and am currently leaning towards going to New Zealand. I am a huge fan of live music and like all types of genres from electronica to hip hop. So if anyone is looking for a concert buddy here I am.  I’m super bummed that I had to sell my Outsidelands and Hard Summer tickets because of FSSP, but in the end I think this amazing program will be worth it. I’m hoping to make a lot of new friends through FSSP and learn more about UCSB and all of the amazing resources the University offers and hopefully utilize them. I can’t wait to have the time of my life these next four years. GO GAUCHOS!

  1. Hi Faith. I think it is really cool that you have had the chance to travel to over twenty different countries! I am pretty jealous. I like how your major in sociology fits well with your travel lifestyle. Just like you, I hope to participate in study abroad. I am planning to only go for a summer though because I do not want to miss out on all the activities happening at UCSB. I want to know what your plan for study abroad is though; if you are thinking about going a whole year, I want to know your reasons for it because I might consider leaving for a year as well.
